Photo-a-day January 2015 – Adelaide Family Photographer

January 6, 2015

I have enjoyed so many people’s ‘Photo-a-day’ projects over the years and this year I was determined to record January in this way. Here is my very first photo-a-day project. Journey with me and my family through January.

My very first photo-a-day project – January 2015

Day One – Happy New year – We got engaged

day 1
(That’s me for L, Miss 7 for O, Master 4 for V (good effort) and fiancé (hilarious) doing his best at an E!)

Day Two – 43 degrees outside and Master 4 is in his element fixing sprinklers with Dad

day 2

Day Three – Considering today’s events with the bush fires it’s no surprise Master 4 is playing with firetrucks

day 3

Day Four – Miss 7 woken by her noisy brother after a late night with friends, showing her maturity by finding a quiet activity while she came around to the idea of being awake

day 4

Day Five – All was quiet in the bath! This was cause for concern. My kids still often bath together which is not only handy but way more fun than bathing alone. They are of an age where I can gather their pjs and even do the dishes knowing that from the noise, splashing and carry-on they are totally ok. When it goes quiet I need to investigate. This time I found them playing a little game giving each other facials or something. Very cute. The quiet didn’t last long… soon there was more noise and splashing again

day 5

Day Six – There seem to be an increasing number of hours spent brushing one’s hair in front of the mirror these days

day 6

Day Seven – Master 4 has just mastered his new lego. Only a little while ago it was all just a bit too fiddly but now he loves to follow the instructions and find the pieces. A little obsessed with his new found skill!

day 7

Day Eight – Miss 7 has always enjoyed dance. Dances every day and is incredibly graceful and rhythmic. Here she has set up her own ballet lesson with music and wearing ballet shoes I have passed down to her that I once wore when I was her age

day 8

Day Nine – Oh the joy to see this boy eat fruit. It’s been a long journey and still a rare sight… but yellow watermelon and the fun of a massive slice won him over

day 9

Day Ten – Very daring to get that close to Master 4 with a hose! Almost egging him on to wet her

day 10

Day Eleven – It’s hot. Any excuse to get wet. One enjoying it wholeheartedly while the other wants desperately to enjoy it but takes cover under his sister’s arm. I love the glee on her face and the almightily grip he has around his sister’s waist. They often rely on each other to be their rock and it’s funny, depending on the situation, which one takes that role.

day 11

Day Twelve – I hope he remembers how good she is to him. Playing his games his way. She really is a lovely sister to him.

day 12

Day Thirteen – In the kitchen being inventive with pastry scraps…. which were baked and had to be sampled by all with dinner.

day 13

Day Fourteen – Spaghetti is way more fun with your fingers

day 14

Day Fifteen – This boy is still obsessed with hoses… and rope, power cords, string. All things must be tied up or have a pretend power source or be watered. It is the only way.

day 15

Day Sixteen – Finally all that child slave labour training is paying off…. and he’s thorough too!

day 16

Day Seventeen – Quiet time. These school holidays have been filled with day trips, grandparent days and playdates. Sometimes it’s nice to have some downtime

day 17

Day Eighteen – Hunting a huntsman spider. A hilarious comedy act armed with garden gloves, golf clubs and garden blower!

day 18

Day Nineteen – This expression sums up my Master 4 right now. Cheeky in that edible kind of way. Cheeky in that naughty kind of way too!

day 19

Day Twenty – Last day of childcare. Only sad and momentous for me I think. It marks the end of an era and the end of seeing a group of people I have trusted with my child and truly love.

day 20

Day Twenty One – I love this photo of my Miss 7. It’s like a little sneak peek of the teenager she is bursting to become and beautiful young woman she will one day be.

day 21

Day Twenty Two – Annual summer swimming lessons and she has found her groove again

day 22

Day Twenty Three – Up before dawn. Many years of my life have been spent waking before the sun. I quickly learned to embrace this. It is rare we are up before 6 these days but this particular morning was one of them… made a little more fun by having breakfast with his teddies (lit entirely by the glow of the tv)

day 23
