When the kids are all grown up, family photos are still super important. This session was celebrating so many things. Mum’s birthday, mother’s day, all the kids in the same country at the same time!!! We started a little different….with a few drinks at the pub first! We were definitely blessed with incredible light as the sun set!
It was so lovely to see this family again. I first Miheylee for her first birthday and she is now 3. This time, big sis Senudi and Mum and Dad joined in the fun this time. This shoot was rescheduled so many times due to illness and weather, it felt like a sheer miracle it finally happened. The day started out cold, raining, so overcast – but in perfect timing, the weather cleared, it felt like it even got warmer, with wind died down, the clouds cleared and the sun put on a beautiful show. The most chill and happy to ‘go with the flow’ kids ever and I love that Senudi had some requests for images she really had a clear vision for.
I have known this family for many, many years when I photographed some of them as little newborns. It’s so lovely to see families again and see these little people grow. This time we headed to Mt Osmond, a place that holds family history and fond memories for this family. Grandparents and the family dogs joined us as we explored the lookout 
It is not unusual for people to be a little nervous about having family photos. Most people dont love the idea of the process, but love idea of the memories at the end. I believe it is important to enjoy the process too. I want people to relax and have fun. To feel comfortable to let down their guard and lean into it. I am often rewarded by people’s joy and relief as we wrap up the session when they express just how easy it was. This fills me up. This is why Im buzzing after sessions. Its a vibe!
This darling family was no exception. Such a beautiful connection between the 3 of them, lovely playful moments with Lyla and lots of laughs.
