I was excited about this shoot. Three sisters arranging a photographic gift for their parent’s birthdays coming up. With their easy going personalities and fantastic attitude, we whipped about various spots throughout the city. Great little series. Really wanted to capture the sibling connection whilst honouring each of their unique personalities.
The old fashioned concept of studio family photography with uncomfortable and falsely posed people infront of hideous backdrops is a cringe-worthey concept in my eyes, especially when the children of the family are now young adults! This family arrived unsure of what to expect and even joked that they wondered if they should have brought their ‘nanna knitted turtle neck jumper’ just to complete the look. I think they were all pleasantly surprised with my fresh spin and before long they were in the moment and actually enjoying it.
