I am sure people must wonder what goes on behind the scenes after a session. For some photographers, they download and burn a CD. Job done. That is not for me. I like to give my images some love. I spend time on each image. I remove the things that wont be there the next day. Dry skin, pimples, scratches, baby dribble, clothing impressions and do a lot of work on skin tones. Everyone’s skin is so different especially little newborn babies.

Here is a little example of a before and after. I love the cracked skin of a newborn’s feet but you will notice I have taken it off his face, removed the red mark in his eyebrow, made his left eye lighter and his lips darker, corrected his purple hand to match his face, removed the red from his skin and given it a beautiful soft wash.

Now he is just as we see him. Our eyes naturally forgive these things and this is how we remember the ones we love – so why not have that kind of photographic record too?
