I meet so many families with children who are well into their primary school years, who confess they haven’t had any family photos taken for quite a while. Time gets away from you and beyond those initial years of major change in little kiddies, when do you make the point of picking a time to record?
The answer is always NOW! Because who knows what is to come. Now is important, now is real, now is to be remembered. And more important that now, is to be true, be real and be in the moment. When I photograph a family I need to get to know them, get a feel for what is real, gain an insight into the family dynamics, each child’s personality so I can record what is true to their family.
My task this particular day was to record the family of Dan of Sweet Lime Photo, a work colleague (nothing quite like the pressure of photographing an awesome photographer). What a beautiful insight into this family. Genuine love can always be seen and felt. Do you see what I see?
