Oh my goodness. I just adore seeing families who come back as their family grows. Naomi and Chris arrived and little Jonathon is not so little anymore and of course now he is a big brother. So good having them all back in the studio. The most gentle and loving little boy on his darling little sister Sarah. Adorable family love. The most beautiful dynamics playing out in this newly fledgling sibling relationship. I love observing little ones, doing what comes naturally but also what they clearly witness their parents do. One of the many beautiful moments watching a dad teach his son a gentle yet strong love for this little girl new to this world?
Oh my goodness. How sweet is teeny tiny little Samranika. 25 days old and completely wrapped in love. I truly love that newborn sessions allow new parents to just be. Be in the moment, be with their babe. To retell their story, to digest the life changing events that were the moments that lead up to them becoming parents. It is not lost on me how precious, vulnerable, overwhelming and heartwarming this time is. Newborn sessions for me are not just pretty pictures and socking up baby cuddles. This is a freeze frame of a moment in life that will soon become a complete blur.
Little Giuliana is almost 4 weeks old at her newborn session here and settled beautifully for this series of photos with her Mum and Dad. I love watching new parents discover their baby and work out what makes them tick. I often wish I could redo the first year with each of my kids, only this time knowing what I know now. Knowing what ended up working for them, what to not bother stressing about and with the comfort of knowing all works out ok in the end. Those first few months are so intense with a newborn. Such a steep learning curve. Challenging and rewarding – not always all at the same time.
